Reviews For “Wanted: Wife”

Blithely Bookish

I love discovering new authors! This is such a cute, romantic, sexy story! Fresh, quirky… Lots of fun! – See more…

Bookishly Attentive

An unforgettable hero, an unusual premise, an unlikely setting, (the New Jersey Pine Barrens, for goodness sake!) and a spot-on first person narrative combine to make this one of the freshest, funniest contemporary romances I’ve read so far this year. – See more…

Caffeinated Book Reviewer

One of my favorite story troupes is contract marriages and Gwen Jones delivered a delightfully funny, totally hot tale with WANTED: Wife. Filled with romance, suspense, a little mystery and a whole lot of heat I consumed this in record time. Three word review:  hot, intense and romantic. See more…

Cocktails and Books

This was a great read.  With two people who were at such opposite ends of the spectrum when it came to marriage and romance, it was funny, sweet, hot and absolutely swoon worthy when Andy spoke French. See more…

Falling in Fall Book Blog

I rated Wanted: Wife with four and one half leaves. I was honestly surprised by how much I enjoyed this story. They always say, “Don’t judge a book by its cover.” I really do try to obey that life lesson, but sometimes I find myself letting the cover do all of the talking. The book’s description had me intrigued… See more…

For the Love of Bookends

An ad on a utility pole, not so unusual, except this one is advertising for a wife. What a great start to a story. Enter Julie Knott, recently dumped reporter looking for a distraction and a story. Andy Devine is looking for a wife, but it’s not meant to be a love match, it’s meant to be a business arrangement. That is until he meets Julie and things go awry. See more…

Fresh Fiction

Where do romance, news anchors, and wanted ads intersect? In New Jersey! Or, rather, in Gwen Jones laugh–out–loud, NJ–set contemporary romance, Wanted: Wife. Gwen has written a fantastically original, sexy romance about love and dating in modern times, complete with a spunky, relatable heroine, and a sexy Frenchman–turned–Jersey native—and the bizarre, hand–written ad (on a telephone post!) that brings them together for a unique, unforgettable ride. Harlequin Junkie

In Wanted: Wife by Gwen Jones, Television reporter Julie Knott is known for her off-the-beaten-path spots on Channel 8 News in Philadelphia where she meets some very, well let’s say, interesting characters. When she covers a story about a local man in Iron Bog, New Jersey, who is advertising for a wife by putting flyers on utility poles, she never guessed she would be the first choice to become his bride. Hopelessly Devoted Bibliophile

I am on a quest to discover as many new Romance authors as I can! So when I saw Wanted: Wife, with it’s adorable cover and quirky blurb, I knew that this was something I’d be reading. I’m glad I did, because I was instantly swept up in such a sweet and sexy story! This is a fresh, totally enjoyable read. See more…

Wanted: Wife is a quirky story about finding love in the most unexpected places – a fabulous debut book from Gwen Jones. See More…

The Jeep Diva (Avon Addict)

A flyer on a telephone pole advertising for a wife is just one of many oddities in Julie’s life at the moment. Although Andy Devine is just that, and not surprisingly she is what he wants. Contracting for a wife his cool and calculating manner suits her down on men attitude perfectly. See more…

Literati Book Reviews

If you enjoy a good love story with a bit of a twist, you will fall in love with Wanted: Wife. This is a story of a woman who believes she has everything she wants in life.  When these things change, she is left to pick up the pieces of her shattered existence and start fresh. See more…

Novel Seduction

What a treat this story was!  I thought the premise was cute when I read the blurb, but I found it to be so original!  I loved it.  I really enjoyed the main characters and all of their quirks.  Another reason I loved this is because I am a born and raised Philadelphian and that is where this all took place (and New Jersey). Any mention of the Phillies seals the deal for me 😉  Ms. Jones writing was sharp and unique as well.  I loved all of her descriptors, use of the French language (HOT) and quick wit. See more…

Reading Rain Blog

I’m not normally a big fan of Romance involving older couples. I am perpetually trapped in a 19 year old’s body – unfortunately, not a skinny one! I guess it has something to do with becoming a parent at 17…I just didn’t get to do all the things that a normal “new adult” does, so I live vicariously through books. See more…

Rusticating in the Tropics (Avon Addict)

I am still shuddering at the adventures the heroine of Gwen Jones’s Wanted: Wife has in the New Jersey woods.  I marveled at the resilience of city dwelling television reporter, Julie, who has to deal with a ramshackle cabin, a rabid raccoon, chickens, heavy duty farm labor, and cows giving birth, not to mention a dud of an ex. – See more…

Thoughts at One in the Morning

I have no idea why it’s taken me this long to write my review for this beauty of a book. I signed up for a promo tour for Wanted: Wife and its sequel months ago and ended up being so intrigued by the synopsis that I had to buy a copy. And oh my goodness, you guys… this book became my favorite of 2014! See more…
